Let's go surfin'
It happened like this...
Last Sunday morning my dare-devil son decided it would be great fun! to surf down the very steep attic stairs on his Power Rangers boogie board. Needless to say, I don't think it was the thrill ride he was expecting! As he described it to Southern Dad and me, "I went right down like a rock!" Couldn't have said it better myself. The bad thing is, I thought the worst part of the fall was the busted, bloody nose he was screaming about. He mentioned that his arm hurt, too, but was using it quite well so I just forgot about it. Fast forward to Tuesday at Nana's house where he fell off her bar stool...on the SAME ARM. He cried for ever, eventually crying himself to sleep. When I got home from school, he tripped and fell in the yard while playing, and you guessed it, cried and cried again. We decided it was worth it to head to the ER just to reassure us that it wasn't broken. Surprise! It was! They called it a buckle fracture - which is very quick to heal. When we went to the bone center for a follow-up, he told us it would probably be healed in 3 weeks. Yay! We went ahead and got a waterproof one for ease in bathing, and because the pool we belong to will be open in a week and a half. I'm telling you, if this is any indication of how this summer is going to be, send help NOW!

Oh my WORD! Sounds like he's a tough kiddo, though, to keep going with a broken arm. Man alive!

Hope it heals quickly and that it is NOT an idication of this summer. :-)

Ditto! He sounds like a tough little boy. Whew...I know you are worn out though! Hopefully this is the last trip to the ER for a long, long time.

Mom, remember that time you TOTALLY IGNORED my broken arm?

Yikes. Now I'm worried that I shouldn't tell my Kid, "quit yer cryin' you're fine..."
